I heart JK by Jemma Kidd (and Napoleon Perdis too)(and Sonic too)!!

So I had a great Sunday. I ran Sunday morning, , then went to Sonic for breakfast, then went to Target to stock up on Jemma Kidd's new makeup and some Napoleon Perdis too. Exercise, food, and makeup--the three staples for a perfect Sunday. I have blogged before about my love for Jemma (and Jodie) Kidd. I have always been a fan of Jemma's makeup, but until now I could only get it in London or at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC. Her new line at Target is beautiful and colorful and oh so accessible. I loved it all! It is available at most Target stores and of course at TARGET.COM .

The colors are vibrant and gorgeous and I am praying it is not for a limited time only--but you know Target is notorious for that--hello Jovovich-Hawk and Richard Chai.
When I was in Australia earlier in the summer I got a ton of Napoleon Perdis cosmetics, so I only purchased a couple of his things at Target. There is also the Pixie line and that is very nice too, but I spent my money on Jemma's stuff.
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to finally have a Sonic in the Chicagoland area. The lines at lunch and dinner have been over 2 hours long --seriously. They have a whole staff of people who do nothing but direct the Sonic traffic and lines. We went in the early morning on Sunday and there was no line, but they were already putting out the orange cones for the lunch rush. I cannot even imagine how much money it is making. I am seriously thinking of a franchise. All the cherry limeades I could ever drink. Heaven!

Here is hoping everyone had a lovely weekend.

I am so excited for you about your sonic!! And am thinking how unbelievable it is about the lines! I was just thinking that they should have a drive-in movie while having the Brown bag special along with free refills of cherry limeade's! That would be fun.

I am going to try the mineral powder foundation from Mary Kay. My friend/helper sales it. I have never known or really heard of people using it but I see people on TV talking about it all the time. It looks easy to use.

I will try to give you a call tomorrow. I will be free for the day.

Many hugs

Yay for Sonic! And I'm excited to see cool new makeup lines at Target. There's zero reason why good design should cost a fortune. xoxoxo

I'm so excited for you! I heart Sonic as well. Those lines remind me of when we got our first Krispy Kreme here in ol' OKC - of course with a doughnut shop, you had cops-o-plenty to direct traffic!! Glad you had a great Sunday :)

Oh girl I love Jemma too. Does the Target line include nail polish? I know she had some nail colors at Bergdorf. What does Sonic give away that the lines are so long? What is up with that?
By the way I love the slate boots in your post below. I am going to take the train to a Target today so I can get some JK goods.
Thanks for the heads up.

Would you please open up a Sonic? I am dead serious - then I could work there, and I would rollerskate around to take people's orders and all that skating would burn off the many, MANY tots that I would steal from the fryer.

Not that I've considered this, or anything. Ahem.

Hi Miss S**
You know, they should show a movie then all the liners (folks in line) would not be so hateful and cranky!
I do not know anything about Mary Kay. I am somewhat opposed to Mary Kay as it is like Excel Communications --only with lipstick. HA
You will have to let me know what you think of it.
Looking forward to seeing you.

Hello WW**
I know....we have caught up with you guys in the Sonic department!
I agree about good stuff should not be so exclusive or cost so much.

Heyyyy AMY!!!*
How are you Sister Jet? Thanks for stopping by. You never know how sacred Sonic is, till you move somewhere that does not have one for a 100 mile radius!
OMG--I did not know Ok went nuts for Krispy Kreme! I love Krispy Kreme...when that HOT DONUTS NOW light comes on it draws me in like a moth to a flame!
Too funny about all the cop patrons there to direct the traffic.
I hope you and the precious hubby are doing wonderful!!

Hi Jan**
How are you? I did not see nail polish in the Jemma line at Target, but yes--I like her polishes too. I do belive they only sold them in 2 packs though and that was somewhat annoying.
Sadly, Sonic does not give anything away--but they do have vanilla cokes and cherry limeades, and Sonic blasts and yummy footlong hotdogs. An all around American drive in type place. Greasy, sugary and DELISH!

Hi Jamie**
Ok seriously--if I open one, you must come car hop Happy Days style on your skates. I would GIVE you all the tots you could eat--you would not have to steal!
My husband I looked into opening a franchise and rule number one before they even consider letting you open one is that you must have OVER A MILLION DOLLARS IN ASSETS. Assets meaning things already paid off and in your possesion. Unless your house is paid off in full, you cannot count your house. LORD!
All I know is that the potential to make money off one is incredible considering the lines at the one in the 'burbs.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Your stuff is great, I just wish Target would have carried a greater quantity and carried it for a longer amount of time. Keep up your beautiful work!

Hi Elena**
I would love some graphics to post on my blog to promote Lexington Avenue. I have a whole shelf in my closet dedicated to Bond Fragrances and I cannot wait to add Lexington Ave to the collection. I collect shoes too, so the bottle is perfect for me.
I will be in touch next week as I am headed out of town.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Hi Pat**
How are you? The Target by my house did not have it either....not even a display. They must have only had it is select Targets?? If there is something you want, I can try to get it for you.
OK--I did get your mail, but I wrote you back on my Blackberry and it is totally messed up. I have been to the Verizon store 3 times in the past 2 weeks because it locks up then everything vaporizes. I am so tired of it. I will be in touch.

i've missed you MP!!!!!!

thanks for visiting my ol' blog. i just updated about something cool that i know a design- savvy person like you will enjoy too.

after reading about JK, NP, and pixi in allure i headed over to target to check it all out. pixi was a little overwhelming- i just wanted something fun to try, not a whole color palette, the NP section was so crowded i couldn't get a good look, and the JK stuff was seriously picked over & nearly sold out. i was bummed i didn't get a chance to try anything but maybe since it's selling so well they'll keep it around longer.

and sonic! how i love sonic. here they're no novelty, though- they're probably even more common than starbucks. but growing up in colorado we didn't have them, and i loved going to visit family in kansas mostly because it was major sonicland! i love the cherry limeades, too, but you've gotta try the frozen coffee drink. i'm blanking on the name but they are sooooo good. you can get them blended with mocha, caramel, or hazelnut. or all 3!

ok, you have to watch top design! jonathan adler is still in it A LOT- even though he's not the host per se. he doesn't say "see you later, decorator" anymore, though. india hick's farewell wish is much less silly and charming. but jonathan's new phrase that he was throwing around on last night's ep is "j'adorable." i'm totally stealing it!

my friend nathan was on the winning team last night, and i don't know if it's just because i know him so i was paying close attention to everything he said, but he was in it a lot. probably because he's so funny and witty and gives good sound bites. thank god he hasn't turned into some bitchy diva in the 15 years since i've seen him, or i wouldn't want to admit i know him!
