Obsessed

I love --I mean LOVE--bath products. Lotions, shower gels, shampoos etc. I love it all. I am not proud to admit that I totally judge hotels by the bath products they carry. I do not mean I call them and ask them prior to staying at a hotel, but if the hotel I am staying in has stellar bath products then that totally gets points from me. Also hotels with shower DOORS as opposed to shower curtains get major points from me--but that is a whole other obsession. I have many.

The last hotel I stayed in on the island of Maui carred Miller Harris bath products. FREAKIN MILLER HARRIS! I was shocked. I have stayed some nice places that carry some fine bath products, but Miller Harris?!?! I love Miller Harris. I know I am lame to take a picture of the bath products at my hotel, but did I mention that is was MILLER HARRIS?

Even my husband was into it. One night while sitting at the beach the wind wafted a beautiful smell my way. I was like "Hmm something smells great. Could it be the night blooming jasmine? The smell of the plumeria freshly bloomed on the trees? The pure beautiful Hawaiian Hibiscus bush just over my shoulder?" My husband sheepishly says that he thinks it is the smell of the MILLER HARRIS conditioner that he used that evening. This beautiful bath array inspired my husband to use conditioner! It is miracle broth, and it smells so good.

When I use up some of the bath stuff I already have, I am for sure going to purchase some more Miller Harris stuff.

Just to prove how much I love bath products, I will throw in a picture of my bath gel shelf by my tub--please note this is only a small sampling of stuff I have hanging around. I swear it is really an obsession. Oh and look, hanging out on the left hand side of the shelf just happens to be some Miller Harris bath oil. No, I did not take it from the hotel. The hotel only had small little sizes, and they had no oils.

Love Monkey

I know Valentine's Day is over and we are supposed to shut up about love and such, but as MonkeyPosh, I feel it is my obligation to at least be interested in anything with Monkey in the title. Thus, I have a few things to say about Love Monkey.

I was actually very excited when I heard there was going to be a show called Love Monkey and that it would be starring Tom Cavanaugh from that show that got cancelled couple of years ago where he owned the bowling alley. I never really watched that show, and cannot even recall the title, but I always thought Tom Cavanaugh was pretty cute in an offbeat, quirky kind of way. Wait, I think the show was just called Ed. Is that right?

I watched Love Monkey about 3 times, and I liked it. Tom and his friends were interesting. As interesting as a group of men (one being Brandon from 90210) can be. Tom worked for an indie music label. His quasi love interest was cute, and this Wayne kid that he was trying to sign onto his label was SO cute and talented in a clone of John Mayer kind of way. Even if the show gets cancelled, I think this Wayne kid deserves some recognition in the music industry.

Love Monkey was filmed on location in New York City just like Sex In the City. I love when shows are filmed out in the world and not on a sound stage. Love Monkey had scenes all over New York, mostly in the Village--I loved it! Some critics were even calling it Pecs In the City--ha. That is pecs as in pectoral muscles for those of you in the back of the class. I guess because it was filmed on location and it was about 4 men as opposed to 4 women.

I heard on Entertainment Tonight that Love Monkey has been cancelled, after only 3 episodes. That makes me sad. I truly think the show had potential. I mean it is a hell of a lot better than that stupid show Freddie Prinze Junior is in. I like Freddie, but hell, I am funnier than that show. Seriously. It is a poor show with weak characters and weak stories. Hollywood is in need of some good comedy writers. And please do not get me started on Crumbs. I had such high hopes for Fred Savage's return to telvision...and Jane Curtain, well all I can say is that she knows the hell better. She was on Saturday Night Live for cripe's sake.

I am now reading the book Love Monkey by Kyle Smith. It is funny. Different than the show. Dare I say, funnier than the show? The show has a better story line, but the book is much funnier.

I heard that UPN or the WB may pick up Love Monkey since the CBS canned it. I really hope it is picked up. It was one of the better shows out there, but now that Grey's Anatomy has raised the bar on hourlong primetime shows...I feel the competition will get fierce. Let the games begin.

Goodbye for now Love Monkey.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ahhhh Romance is in the air. Roses are to be sniffed, chocolate is to be eaten, hugs and kisses abound. Nascar is to be watched, deer heads are to be dusted, and back hair is to be coiffed into Valentine's Day masterpieces. This picture reminds me of Oklahoma. This is a sure sign of true love in Oklahoma. Gives new meaning to the term "Wax Poetic".

This picture is from afunworld.com but I would bet money that it was taken at the Oklahoma State Fair.

I hope your Valentine's Day is full of all good things.

Aloha from the Islands of Aloha!

I am back to the cold mainland after being in Polynesia for a while. I was on the island of Maui, but Hawaii is part of Polynesia, and Polynesia sounds more exotic to me. A wonderful time was had by all, but it is always good to be home. I cannot wait till the next time we visit beautiful Hawaii--it has always been our favorite vacation spot for warm weather and relaxation.

Island Style

This is one of the views from our hotel room. Simply beautiful. It is whale season (humpback variety) in Hawaii right now...so we were able to witness whale activity from our balcony.

*NOTE* From January to about April every year humpback whales migrate from the cold feeding waters of Alaska to the warm waters of Hawaii to mate and have babies.
The humpback whale is protected in most parts of the world because at one point it was almost extinct. Violent waves crashing onto the shores near Pa'ia. There was a lot of wind while we were there.

Beloved

I have been gone all week, so I was not aware all week that my friend Barbara lost her beloved dog Astro . I am so sad I was gone when this happened. I wish I could have been there for my friend. Barbara and I met through perfume but we bonded and became close through our dogs.

Farewell Dear Astro. You were loved by many who did not ever meet you. Your photos and stories will continue to make many of us laugh and smile. You brought joy to many who did not know you.
You are a hero and a mascot to many people.

Much love to my friend Barbara.
