Slave to fashion--The Skinny Jean

As I am a slave to fashion and a believer that Lucky Magazine is my bible--I decided to get brave and try the skinny jeans. I was pleasantly surprised that they are not as scary as I thought they would be. As I said in the post below--the key is just finding the style that works for you. In lieu of the skinny jean, some brands have super straight leg jeans that give the illusion of the skinny jean, without the tightness at the bottom. The jeans to the left are the True Religion Julie Skinny Jean. True Religions (for me) have a great fit. I was excited to see they were coming out with a skinny jean. I ordered these from Neiman Marcus and I love them.

These are the Seven Gray Skinny Jeans. I love them too. Gray is the new neutral "it" color this season, or so they say. As I said below, Seven is starting to be considered passe, but I still love the fit, and the large back pockets. I loathe small back pockets. I have a rump, so I need the illusion that big pockets provide.
I also purchased these at Neiman Marcus.

I also purchased a pair of Rag & Bone Skinny Jeans, but alas I cannot find a photo. The fit is OK, but the Rag & Bones seem to be skinnier If that makes any sense. I might just save them 'till I lose a few pounds.

My next jean search will be for Rogans. I cannot find them anywhere. I will refrain from buying anymore skinny jeans because I fear this trend will be short lived. I will participate in this trend with mucho gusto, but I am fearing the return of the high waist. It has been all over the Chloe runways for a long time now, and I am dreading it like you would not believe. When Kate Moss does not even look good in them--then you know we are all in trouble--HA. Even though Kate Moss has HORRID taste in men she still can rock pretty much anything and look good.

Have a lovely day!

The Gloss is Boss (& skinny jeans to follow)

This week I was on a Lip Gloss and Skinny Jean hunting expedition. When I first heard the Skinny Jean was making a return I was scared, but I mustered my strength and tried them out and really they are not scary at all. The trick is just finding the right ones to flatter your body. I cannot get any of my jeans pics to post-- so I will just focus on the glosses. Jeans post to follow as soon as blogger decides to cooperate.

My fave gloss finds this weekend were:

Chantecaille lip gloss in Charm. Chantecaille has beautiful glosses. They are thick and long lasting, but not sticky at all. Charm is a lovely neutral pink.

I am in love with Jemma Kidd's new line of makeup called Jemma Kidds Makeup School. I have blogged about her items before but just this week I tried her glosses.

I ordered Bloom and Bare from Jemma's line of glosses from Neiman Marcus. They are great glosses and I liked the colors, but honestly the Chantecaille gloss feels better on the lips.

The third gloss I fell in love with was a new one by Chanel called Wonderland. It is a transluscent pink with sparkle.

I know, I know, but I am a sucker for a tiny bit of sparkle in a gloss.

The little swatch below the glosses is of Wonderland. It is beautiful and sheer and shiny.

As far as the Jeans go, I was able to find some awesome Rag and Bone Skinny Jeans that I cannot find a photo of, but I also got a pair of gray skinny jeans from Seven. I know Seven is getting to be a little passe, but they have a great fit and I wanted some gray jeans since gray is the new neutral this season. . In addition, I was able to find some True Religion Julie Stovepipe jeans that fit great and will fit nicely inside some high boots.

What wonderful makeup or fashion finds have you found lately?

Have a beautiful day!

I usually do not think it is any big deal when someone credits my blog or uses my ideas, but to see my post in Asian characters is very cool indeed. I do not know the lovely girl in the photo. I am sure she is showing her own nude lips as my original post was about my search for the perfect nude lipsticks, glosses and liners. Just scroll down from her picture and you can see the link to MonkeyPosh and see my post in Korean. Come on it'll be educational! I am very easily entertained.

Click here : http://cutewithchris.com/ to see an awesome display of humor used to help animals that need homes. Chris (along with his sidekick Colty) use their humor to help animals in local California shelters find families to love them. Chris profiles adorable animals and sometimes has a cuteness showdown (known as a "cutedown") between certain Hollywood celebs and said animals. What genius to use your humor to help animals. There is nothing on this earth I love more than comedy or animals. Plus Chris is totally cute and totally hilarious!
Give Chris a click and a shout out. He needs some props for what he is doing.

Have a lovely day.

TV Nirvana: Project Runway Finale and more!

Tonight is the long awaited and higly anticipated finale of Project Runway. I am on the edge of my seat! I cannot wait for the Jeffrey/Laura drama to unfold (rolls eyes). No really I cannot wait. Tune in at 8pm on BravoTV.

Test your Project Runway expertise
here . Fun little quiz to pass the time.

Following The Project Runway Finale tonight is the premier of the new season of Top Chef. I was obsessed with that show last season. The robotic Katie Joel has been replaced with a sassy new host, Padma Lakshmi and Chef Tom Colicchio is back in all his culinary hottness!

Also tonight at 7pm is The Biggest Loser on NBC. I am in love with this show too. They whine they fight they weigh they lose. It's pure drama with a healthy yet low carb dose of inspiration. I love it!

So, tonight is reality TV Nirvana. I have a date with a tall German Reisling.
Hope your Wednesday evening will be as happy as mine!

I had more fun pictures to post, but blogger is not being cooperative this morning.

The pics that would post are from BravoTV.com.

Another Bobbi Brown Palette

I love this new lip palette by Bobbi Brown.
As a matter of fact, I love all her palettes lately. This one is filled with some of her fave shimmer glosses.

I am a redhead who finds it difficult to find great colors sometimes, and I have to say that every color in this palette is beautiful and wearable.
The subtle hint of sparkle makes this perfect for the upcoming Holiday party season.

You can find this beauty at www.gloss.com

Germany : Frankfurt and Kaiserslautern

Very cool perfume movie ad in Frankfurt, Germany. This ad was all over the city. Of course I loved it--a redhead and perfume--what is not to love? HA!
Albrecht, my favorite fragrance and makeup boutique in Frankfurt, Germany. Notice how they have a fine selection of Bond right in front. They pride themselves on being the only place in their region to carry The Bond fragrances. Laurice would be proud.

Very interesting window display by Karl Lagerfeld in the Chanel Boutique in Frankfurt, Germany along the Goethestrabe -which some argue is the 5th Ave of Frankfurt. I loved this Shalimar sign at another of my favorite fragrance stores in Kaiserslautern. We took the train to Kaiserslautern for the day and I loved it. Along the banks of the Main River that runs through Frankfurt. This view is of the older part of Frankfurt.

This is another view of the new part of Frankfurt from a different part of the river. The new part of Frankfurt is quite a contrast from the old part. Frankfurt is a beautiful and unique city. It is the 5th largest city in Germany and the Financial Capital of the country.
Haben Sie einen schonen Tag = Have a lovely day.

Greek Isles

The beautiful Greek Isles. There is a whole other feeling on the islands than on the mainland.

Fresh daily octopus catch. Octopus is very popular in Greece. I was not brave enough to eat any.
Harbor. Some of the islands do not allow cars or motorbikes...so boats are the main transportation.
Beautiful Island church.
Lots of treasures to be found in the hidden alleyways. All the alleyways were originally made to get pirates lost and keep them at bay.
Beautiful Island houses.

Rocky beach.

Colors of the Greek Flag.

grrrrrr.....frustration...but Thank You!

Thanks to all my friends and blog buddies who answered the style survey. My comment moderator will not let me post any of your comments as of right now. Thanks also to those of you who answered via e-mail.

I appreciate it very much.

May I have a moment of your time?

Dear Savvy Readers,

A very cool PR Group who mainly focus on fashion has asked me if I (and my blog readers) would be involved in a survey about universal ideas of fashion and fashion influences.

There are 3 questions I would be ever grateful if you would answer.
If you do not want to post your answers in my comments, then you can click on my profile and send them to me via e-mail.

1. Who in the media or entertainment field most influences your style, and why? If no one in the media really influences the way you dress, then whose style in the media do you most admire?

2. Whom in your real life (aunt, mom, friend) do you think has the most style and dresses the most stylish- and what is it about them that makes you admire their style?

3. Do you think there is a distinct difference between style and taste? When you hear someone say "Oh she dresses so tasteful" do you think it means the same as if they said "Oh she dresses so stylish" ? Does "He has good taste" equal "He has good style"?

Thanks so much for answering these questions. I am not getting any sort of financial compensation for doing this survey....I was just approached about it and I thought it sounded so interesting. I am genuinely interested in what you have to say and looking forward to your answers. Thanks again!

Have a wonderful day!

TOM FORD : BLACK ORCHID

Be still my heart... My man Tom Ford is debuting his new fragrance , Black Orchid exclusively at Neiman Marcus!!

According to the website, the Top Notes are: Black Truffle and Ylang Ylang mingled with Fresh Bergamot and Black Currant.

The Middle Notes are: Dark Florals and Rich Fruit Accords. The heart is deepened with intoxicating lotus wood.

The Base Notes are: Patchouli, Incense, Vetiver, and Vanilla Tears add a fluid creaminess to Warm Balsam and Smooth Sandal Wood.

Does anyone know what in the sam hill Vanilla Tears are? I do not know, but cry me a Vanilla River because this fragrance is DELICIOUS. All the unique notes blend so well together. I was able to get my paws on some when it was still in the incubation stage. It was super secret and I have kept my mouth shut about it till now when it made it's debut to the world.

I love Tom Ford and I love this creation.
