And the winner is.....

First off, I would like to thank everyone who visited MonkeyPosh and entered to win the Prada fragrance. I meant to do the drawing yesterday, but I was busy at the vet with my elderly dog. More on that later.....but today I put all the entries in a hat....and I drew out the winner.......and the winner is........JAMIE --who has her own sassy blog here: PARALLEL FIRST . I have never met Jamie, and I am not sure how I started reading Jamie's blog, but she is smart and has a wicked sharp wit. She is also very pretty and has an adorable pup named Doc....AND she is soon going to smell like crisp linen in the Prada! Another great thing about Jamie winning is that she lives in Chicago, so rather than mail the fragrance to her-- maybe I can just meet her for coffee and give it to her then. That would be double awesome. Anyways--Congrats Jamie!

On another note--Please send my dog, Forrest some good vibes. Bless his heart. He is old and arthritic. He has become quite aggressive lately too--probably due to the pain is in his back legs. The vet said he may also have a form of doggie dementia. Everyone who has ever met Forrest would say this comes as no surprise. He has always been a little "special". He is very cranky and has started to bite in his old age--this is how Forrest looks most of the time now-He almost refuses to go outside in this cold weather and he has bitten both my husband and me for trying to make him. He also snaps at little Finley a lot. Because we love Forrest and we want the family to live in blood free harmony, we had to resort to this:

A muzzle. It breaks my heart, but he is much more calm and humble in the muzzle. It sucks to get old. By the way, he has had every test (blood, liver, etc) done under the sun and he is healthy other than his old joints and cranky disposition. He is also on a new medication now for pain and clear thinking. Hopefully he (and his attitude) will improve soon.

Thanks again to everyone who entered to win the Prada, and since so many people asked-- the color on my nails in the post below is Maybelline Salon Finish Nail Color in Rouge Red.

I plan to do many more giveaways here at MonkeyPosh in 2008 so stay tuned!

Beautiful day to all!

Congrats Jamie!

Aww, I am sorry to hear about poor Forrest. It sucks when a pet gets older and are not quite themselves anymore. I have experienced it myself so I understand. I am sending out prayers and many good vibes to Forrest and the whole family that the medication helps. I hope you are having a good day.

Ohhh, poor Forrest! I feel that way myself a lot of the time. (Fortunately no one has suggested a muzzle - yet.) My old dog went a bit *off* as well so I can understand. Just wanted to say hi and let you know how much I enjoy your blog.

also, i'll be thinking of forrest for sure. here's hoping the muzzle (while difficult to look at) works to calm him down a bit.

Poor Forrest... but family harmony must be restored. It does suck to get old, whether human or canine. Bless his heart.

oh sweet Forrest! I don't blame him for not wanting to go out in the cold!

The worst feeling when you have arthritis is anything cold - cold water, cold air, it's all very painful (according to my arthritic mom)
Have y'all tried some doggie sweaters or jackets on him? That might help make it easier. The muzzle seems be be a great solution, Forrest is lucky to have understanding parents like you two!

Jen, I'm so sorry Forrest is having problems, poor little pooch. I hope and pray that the medication helps his joint pain. I hope the muzzle doesn't bother him very much. I'm sorry he has to wear it. Prayers and positive thoughts and hugs coming to you from me, pooch, you hang in there, it's going to be all right.

Congratulations Jamie, enjoy the fragrance!

Hooray for Jamie, another redhead.
Poor Forrest. It is really sad when a beloved pet starts to fail.
I agree with Fightin Mad, have you tried a coat, although today you have warm weather so hopefully he is doing better.
Loved that you had a giveaway. Way to pay it forward.

Poor Forrest! I am sending him my well wishes! I also hope this medicine works for him. So sorry he has to be muzzled, but it sounds like that's the only option.

Wonderful for Jamie. Is Jamie a perfumista? Does she understand the prestige of this Prada?
I am sure she will enjoy it.
Good vibes to Forrest.
Arthritis is no fun at all. Poor guy.

Look at our poor dear baby, Forrest!

We all have bad days.

You and have have talked for more than 3 years now about watching our beloved canine 'children' age, and the decisions and changes we must make.

For me, I had to change the way I looked at Astro too. I know you love Forrest with all your heart.

Give him a kiss for me (with the muzzle on, please.)

Oh, Forrest!

You are doing the right thing with the muzzle, J. I know it is difficult, but you are keeping yourself, your family, visitors and most importantly, Forrest, safe by utilizing it.

But, I agree: Getting old "sucks"!

Hugs and love!
