Jaeger, Cavalli, and Vivienne--oh my!

I have been busy working on perusing a lot of the Fall accessory lines lately. Surprisingly, very few things have caught my eye or have me swooning. To be honest, after a while a lot of things start looking alike, I mean a black leather pump, is a black leather pump, is a black leather......well, you get the idea. Thank goodness in the midst of all the work there have been a few shining stars. Here are some things that I fell in love with.

The Bianca Bag by Jaeger. Jaeger does not really get the recognition they deserve in the Untied States. They are very well established in Europe--and with good reason. This bag--The Bianca is stunning. The delicious cranberry patent leather and the juxtaposition of the fabric bow are so unique. I love this bag and I will search high and low for it when I am in Europe. You can find the Bianca Bag and other gorgeous Jaeger designs at: JAEGER .
These are the Roberto Cavalli Stamped Leather Platforms from NET-A-PORTER . These are so classic, yet rock and roll at the same time. Simply gorgeous.
I first saw them in the bright red pictured above, I immediately fell, and fell hard. I love these and they are for sure on my list of must haves this season.
This is the gorgeous Stella Appaloosa Tote in red. This can also be found at
NET-A-PORTER . Again with the dark cranberry.....divine.

This is just a very cool Vivienne Westwood ad that I love. Vivienne Westwood has always been willing to push the envelope on what is cool and fashionable. She has succeeded at things most are afraid to touch. In a season of ho hum, generic, and dare I say ...cookie cutter promotions and ads, from me to you-Vivienne--Thanks for some excitement! This ad is so quirky, so Flinstonian, so eccentric, and so Westwood.

I love the bag in the photo, but I have not been able to find the name of it. It was featured in the Vivienne Westwood Fall '07 show entitled "Wake Up Cave Girl!". What a brilliant title! You can check out many of Vivienne's designs at her website here: VIVIENNE WESTWOOD .

Have a beautiful day.

JENger kid--see also post below

Ok--This is me as a Ginger Kid (see you tube video in post below). The photo above is me at my 2nd birthday party spitting on...er, I mean blowing out my candles. All 2 of them. My hair is still that unruly and curly which is why I am constanltly obsessing about hair products and good conditioners. I look just like Little Orphan Annie. This is me at about 5 years old ALL PROUD in my "J" overalls. Notice the fancy shirt I was rocking. Ruffley sleeves at 5 years old. What a posh little monkey I was--HA! Please forgive the uneven bangs that were probably cut with the orange handled scissors kept in the junk drawer in the kitchen. Bless my little heart.

The video in the post below inspired me to find some photos of myself as a homely little Ginger Kid.

By the way, is it wrong that I think Carrot Top (the comedian) is kinda hot?

Happy Sunday!

Blech--Ginger Kids! Funny Clip

As a bonafide sunfearing "Ginger Kid", I find this hilarious.

Please note I am not a fan of South Park AT ALL and I have NEVER watched an episode of South Park, but this was sent to my by a friend, and it touches a nerve---and my funny bone.
Also please forgive the ignorant language and profanity in the clip.
I have always thought South Park was awful.

Have a GREAT day!

Tuesday Obsessions

It's Tuesday! What better reason to share some of my recent obsessions? The weather is changing around here. There is a chill in the air in the early morning and the late evening. I know Fall is just around the corner. Rather than dread it this year, I choose to embrace it. Here are some things I am loving this late Summer/early Fall.
Love Love Love this new Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioner by L'oreal. I posted a question about my long, dry, color treated, hard water exposed, pourous red hair on an internet board of hair gurus and this conditioner was suggested a few times. It is easily found at any drugstore and it is very inexpensive, so what the heck? I threw caution and about $3.99 to the wind and gave it a try. I am SO GLAD I did. It contains something they call cashmere....CASHMERE for less than 5 bucks? And I can wash my hair in it? That is just plain dreamy, and it does indeed work like a dream. I got the one for long dry hair and my hair is loving me for it. Yosh Omniscent---YUMMMMMM! This is one of the most perfect fall scents ever, in my humble opinion. I love Yosh Han and I love all her scents. She is a brilliant perfumer. The notes listed for Omniscent are:

YOSH Omniscent 0.96 blends notes of flowers, fruits, citrus, woods, incense and herbs for a lavish, sultry fragrance that’s a little spicy, a little smoky, a little warm, and a little sweet. A sensuous, dark honeyed drydown emerges that’s dangerous and magical. Notes include: gardenia, Egyptian tuberose, fig, lilac, violet, kush, Tunisian opium, vanilla, sandalwood, basil, clove, geranium and pink grapefruit.

To me, it smells of resiny woods, sweet pickles and the La Brea Tar Pits. That may sound strange to you, but believe you me....it is divine. Seriously.

I am also totally obsessed with Hayden Harnett bags, totes and other accessories. This photo is of the Hayden Harnett Cannes tote in Saffron. I am obsessed with all things Saffron this early fall. Is that not beautiful? And it would go with everything.

Hayden is located in Brooklyn and NYC, but you can find Hayden's wares all over the United States. The website is : HAYDEN HARNETT . You can order from the website or if you live near a Von Maur, they carry some of Hayden's items too.

This photo is of the Hayden Harnett Orsay bag. I love this. The funky colors and design make me happy. I will be carrying a Hayden Harnett this fall for sure. Check them out.

Nail polish is always an obsession for me.....manicures and pedicures are one of my favorite indulgences. I am totally loving the new Russian Collection by OPI! They are all beautiful colors for Fall, and the names are too cute--Kreme de la Kremlin, An Affair in Red Square, Boris and Natasha...etc- you get the idea. You can find the whole collection at one of my favorite websites for nail (and other beauty items) care --Head 2 Toe Beauty. You can peruse their awesome website here: HEAD 2 TOE BEAUTY .
They have a huge selection and awesome customer service.
BATH AND BODY WORKS . I adore Deborah Lippman.

Last but most certainly not least--I am obsessed with Big Brother 8 and Big Brother After Dark. I know it is lame, I know it is a huge waste of time--time that could be spent doing something good for the world.....but OH MY GOD, I cannot tear myself away. I swore this summer I would not watch it becasue it is on 3 nights a week (Sun, Tues and Thurs) and Big Brother After Dark on Showtime 2 is on 7 nights a week for 3 FREAKING HOURS A NIGHT. I am too cheap to subscribe to the live feeds, so Big Brother After Dark is the next best thing. I already pay for the cable so no harm, no foul....except that my TIVO is clogged up with hours and hours of BB After Dark now. I am loving America's Player Eric who is a weasely little man. I loathe Dick and Daniele and I miss seeing Nick because he was the only cute person in the house. Oh and Amber--not worthy of comment. I like Jameka and Zach is OK--strange but OK. Jen--I used to hate her, but now I kinda like her. It will all be over soon and life can get back to normal. Thank God and Julie Chen.

Oh and of course I am still secretly obsessing about Al Roker---but that goes without saying.

What are you obsessing about today? Please share with me!

Have a beautiful day!

I'm a joker, I met AL ROKER, I'm a midnight toker...and 10022 SHOE

This past week I had the rare and exciting priveledge of meeting Al Roker at O'Hare International Airport. Now, I know to most of you, meeting Al Roker is not that exciting, however there is a whole backstory that goes with meeting Al--who happens to be one of the pivotal members of "America's First Family". You see.....just a couple nights prior to meeting Al, I actually had a dream about Al and his wife Deborah. I dreamt that I met them at a restaurant in New York City and that they were very nice and we chatted and had a grand time. So, I find it quite ironic that a mere 2 days later, I actually did meet him. There are other strange paradigms to this story too.....are you sitting down?

You see, I was at O'Hare waiting on my cousin Jess to arrive for a visit, so I told her that while waiting on her I met Al Roker and she says "That is strange I was just reading my book and there was a mention of him in the book". She was reading a Janet Evanovich book. I think she said the one with twelve in the title. I do not know because I have never read a Janet Evanovich book. You have to admit--that is freaky. THEN my cousin and I went to see Dirty Rotton Scoundrels on Sunday in Chicago and damned if they did not mention Al Roker in one of the songs. It was quite strange and ironic and it totally gave me goosbumps. I wonder what it all means. It is just too much to be mere coincidence......I feel great Roker things in my future. Or-maybe it has more to do with Matt Lauer. If indeed there is a Jesus, then I predict it is for sure more about Matt Lauer--swoon.
Also, on Sunday on the way to the Gospel Brunch at Chicago's House of Blues (which you should totally check out), my cousin and I got to watch part of a movie being filmed and we could see Aaron Eckhart doing what looked to be a scene of a press conference where he got arrested in the end. It was quite interesting. Some people said it was a new Batman movie, but we saw no sign of that. No Batmobile or anything.

Aaron was very lithe and lean and tall- for an actor. No offense, but actors all seem so short. I remember when I was a little girl I saw Sylvester Stallone in person in the Bahamas and he was so short, but he had on HIGH HEELS --like mens dress shoes with HIGH HEELS. He was ROCKY for God's sake. I was only about 8, and from Oklahoma, so needless to say, I was traumatized.

I had a very busy week with my cousin and my dog's kidney stones, shopping, and eating.

OH and the new shoe department at Saks in NYC opens today. It is called 10022 SHOE. HOORAY! One of my friends attended a sneak peak reception but they would not allow photos--but I have heard it is a shoe lovers dream come true. Meredith Viera did a piece on it yesterday on the TODAY show (the show where AL Roker is the weather man) and it looks beautiful. I cannot wait to check it out soon in NYC!

That is what is going on with me, what is happening in your neck of the woods?

(see how I did that? that was an Al Roker quote)

Redheads Protest Wendy's

What a crazy summer! There has been no time for blogging lately.
Thank God for Youtube and cornball videos.

In a time where everyone wants to protest something and be a victim, I thought this video was hilarious!

Viva la Redheads!

Have you seen this guy?

Tay Zonday is so unique. I do not understand half of what he says, but I am sure it is lyrical genius!
