Holiday Fantasy Wish List

This Holiday Season I do not have a long "for real" wish list. We are doing home add ons and renovations so we are focusing on that and traveling, instead of getting tons of mindless gifts that we do not need. However , I was thinking of all the things that would make me incredibly happy this year (besides the obvious--world peace, cure for all fatal diseases, health, happiness Gary Gulman etc) . I have compiled a list of stuff that may or may not ever happen--hence at this point it is all fantasy. Here are a few items on my fantasy list-
First off-- I would LOVE if Tom Ford/Estee Lauder would make the fragrance of the Azuree Oil into a Parfum. It is beautiful and fresh and I would buy it by the bucket. On this same subject, I also pray for the day that the Aedes De Venustas home fragrance line becomes a Perfume, EDT, lotion and soap line too. Have you tried the Aedes scent by la Artisan? It is beyond beautiful. Find it at www.Aedes.com
I wish the first 2 seasons of Anthony Bourdain No Reservations ( plus bloopers and out takes) would come out on DVD. I love Anthony, and I love his show! I would bet some of the stuff behind the scenes is hilarious! EDITED TO ADD--All new shows start on New Years Day of Anthony Bourdain No Reservations. Watch it. Anthony will smoke--you will laugh. Anthony will eat--you will laugh. Anthony will travel to some unexpected place in the world--you will laugh, but probably learn something too. Check it out on The Travel Channel.
I want a butt like Jessica Biel. I am doing squats as I type this. DAYUM!
I want a rhinoplasty a la Ashlee Simpson. Great improvement. Yes, I have secretly wanted rhinoplasty for about 10 years now. Ashlee looks great, and her rhinoplasty really made a difference.

PICTURE SUBWAY GRAPHIC HERE--DANG BLOGGER!

Lastly, I REALLY wish Subway would get a drive through. I thought all my fantasies were answered when Starbucks went drive through, but no I am never satisfied--I always want more. There are so many days I would totally eat at Subway, but I am too lazy to park and go in. So are you listening Subway? Start making drive throughs!!!

What are some of your fantasy holiday wishes?--keep it clean ha.

Have a wonderful day!

I love fun Holiday makeup!

I am a total girlie girl and I love love love makeup,(and shoes, and clothes and perfume, etc) and I love that during the holiday season the cosmetic companies break out the big guns in the way of gorgeous, eyecatching holiday makeup. This season there seems to be a bumper crop of beautiful things. Here are some favorites I have picked up recently.
Bourjois Paris always delivers fun and whimsical themes to their seasonal makeup lines. This season they have a Parisian Circus kind of theme going. This palette is called Astonishing Acrobat . The Big Top Beauty With the Breathtaking Eyes! The 3 eye colors are perfect for holiday parties. There is a silver shadow, a light shimmery pink shadow and a dark blue shadow with just a hint of sparkle. The dark blue would make a beautiful smokey look. I purchased this beauty at Sephora (www.Sephora.com) . I took a closer picture of the tin the shadows come in just because I think it is so cute!
When I first saw this gorgeous Chanel eye shadow palette (50 Marbres Tendres) I had to have it. It took a little searching, but I was finally able to make it mine. They look like watercolor to me. The shadow on the bottom right looks like the earth from space. I am not sure if I can ever bring myself to use it or not because it is just so pretty. I found this at Bergdorf Goodman. (www.bergdorfgoodman.com)
This is the beautiful Cle de Peau Eye Color Quad in #9. Gorgeous colors for a redhead. I love the bronze and purple colors, with the shimmery color in the upper corner. I purchased this at Saks. (www.saks.com)

Last, but not least is the gorgeous City Chick Smokey Eye Kit by the beautiful and talented Mally Roncal. The one pictured is called Central Park. Mally made 6 different collections so that everyone could find colors for them and so women would not be afraid of the smokey eye. Each palette comes with a complimenting eye liner.

The other kit choices are:

Brownstone- with taupes, browns and a lovely mauve.

Midtown Merlot- with beiges, and plummy wine colors.

Nolita Navy- with 2 shimmery beige colors, a bright blue and a navy blue.

Plum Chelsea- golden browns and gorgeous plum/purple colors.

Skyscraper- comes with a brown and 3 shades of gray--light shimmery/silvery gray, medium tone gray and an almost black shade of gray.

I got my palette at Henri Bendel, but you can also find the whole Mally line at www.QVC.com .

Have a beautiful day!

This Chantecaille Palette is called the Muse Lips Palette. The colors look universally flattering, I can wear every single one of these colors. This lovely palette is to be found at www.neimanmarcus.com .
Amazing Chantecaille Etheral Lips Palette. This has got to be my favorite of the bunch. Shiny, shimmery and perfect for all the holiday parties. The title says etheral, so wear this and look like an angel--HA! This can also be found at www.blissworld.com . This is the Chantecaille Tango in Argentina palette. Very saucy and South American. The middle color is the blush and the side colors are complimenting eye shadows. Wear this and put on your hottest Holiday Dress, then channel your inner Emmit Smith and work a Tango girl. Hot Hot Hot! This spicy number can be found at www.Neimanmarcus.com

I Love "Blogging Project Runway"!

Ok, so I do not like to toot my own horn...seriously-I am not a horn tooter--although I did play the flute in junior high band- Whatever. Crazy things have been happening here at MonkeyPosh lately. Yesterday my numbers from Australia were so high and it was so weird. Turns out is was something to do with Australian Vogue--who knew?

But today my numbers are crazy high and I could not figure out why. Turns out the awesome folks at Blogging Project Runway (one of my all time favorite blogs because it is so awesome and it makes me laugh so damn hard) posted a link to my blog post about meeting Tim Gunn in Chicago on Thursday! See it here:
http://bloggingprojectrunway.blogspot.com/ That is so exciting, as I am Project Runway obsessed.
Read their blog daily for all the latest gossip, scoop and fashion...it is so good!

So, in the past 3 weeks I have met Emmett McCarthy, Worn a shirt by Nick Verreos, and Met Tim Gunn, and got a mention on Blogging Project Runway -all quite by accident. My Project Runway Mojo must really be working.
All I have left on my list is to eat flan with Malan...call me sweetie.

Thanks Blogging Project Runway for the shout out!!

Fashionable day to everyone!

SKREEE! Tim Gunn completes me!

So, today was a lovely (albeit windy) day in Chicago. I met up with a lovely fellow fragrance lover. We did some shopping, ate some lunch, AND WE FREAKING MET TIM GUNN!!!!!!

That is right. We followed Tim Gunn into Crate & Barrel and we (well me being the obnoxious one) walked right up and introduced myself. He was kind and charming and as the title indicates--he completes me. I really wish I was obnoxious enough to ask for a photo, but alas , I tried to not be a stalker deluxe. He was just trying to buy some dishes or something at Crate & Barrel and the last thing he needed was for a crazy redhead to pester him. He was headed to an event at Macy's. He was so cute, I just wanted to whisk him away to the top of the Sears Tower and confess my obsessive love for him and all of Project Runway. I had to seriously bite my tongue not to start quoting him..."ANDRE WHAT HAPPENED TO ANDRE?"
"Designers you bring me closer to God". Ok that was not a Tim Gunn quote, but it was Santino and it was funny as hell.

Tim was so sweet to us and he was so happy and handsome and precious. He looked at us with that Tim Gunn stare--(you know the one he has when he is telling a wayward designer how he is worried about their moss moo moo and how he just wants to make sure they are willing to defend it to Nina Garcia? yeah that look) and he said "I really love Chicago". You know what?

CHICAGO LOVES YOU TOO TIM GUNN! !!!!!!!!!

Hello to the lovely Perfumer at http://www.aromascope.com/ . It was such a nice day!

I am loving......(well at least this week)

This week I am loving many things, one of which happens to be the AWESOME Hair Milk by Carol's Daughter. I have naturally curly hair. I rarely ever just let it go wild with my ringlets infused with tons of cowlicks, but I tried the Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, and it is grand. I just towel dried, used some of my Infusium Leave in Spray, then did a little scrunching with the Hair Milk, and my hair was soft and curly and nice.

I am also really loving that one of my former comedic writing teachers, Adam (pictured above) won a lot of money playing the AOL trivia game called Gold Rush. WAY TO GO ADAM!!!! Adam's father is ill and he said he plans to use some of the money to help his father. Congrats on the win and here is to wishing good health to Adam's father.
The Stila Lip Glaze in Banana is also stealing my heart this week. The photo above is not of Banana. The Banana is sheer and nude and oh so shiny. I am obsessed with the nude lip, and the Banana Lip Glaze fits the bill, plus it tastes ever so slightly of bananas! YUM! Speaking of YUM- I am also loving the fact that Taye Diggs is making a comeback to television in a new show titled Daybreak. It looks as though the premise is a little like the movie Groudhog Day--only not a comedy. I am not sure about the show, but I have loved Taye Diggs since he was Bennie in the original cast of RENT on Broadway. When I saw him as Winston Shakespeare in the movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" with his faux Island accent well, I was smitten. Subsequently I also have a crush on his wife, Idina Menzel. She played Maureen in the original cast of RENT, and she has had tremendous fame on broadway since--most recently as Elphaba in Wicked. Idina is so talented and so beautiful. I tried to post a picture of Taye and Idina together, but Blogger is really being testy today.Lastly, I am loving my Kiehl's Cryste Marine Firming Eye Treatment. I have used many eye creams in my time, and this one, in my humble opinion is stellar. Kiehl's has never let me down. They are easy to find, very economical, and they do the jobs they claim to do. With winter headed our way, I always step up the moisture regime on my face, and the Kiehl's Cryste Marine works great around my eyes. Also this week if you buy the Kiehl's Grapefruit Hand and Body Wash with the ribbon on the label part of the proceeds will go to AIDS research/relief in Africa. Go buy it--you will smell good and be helping people....nothing better than that!

Have a lovely day!

Le Labo * New York City--Barneys and Elizabeth Street

I love the concept of Le Labo. It is a fragrance lab where they make your fragrance right there in front of you upon request. I purchased my first bottle at the Le Labo Lab at Barneys New York. The oh so cute Justin made it for me and the dashing Tyler helped me decide. The Tubereuse 40 is exclusive to Le Labo in New York City. Every city where there is a Le Labo will have their own exclusive scent that cannot be purchased anywhere else.
The exclusive scents cost double what the other ones cost....oh the high price of exclusivity! The Tubereuse scent is beautiful. It is very fresh and light and unlike any other Tubereuse I have ever owned.

Anyways--they make the scent for you and label it with anything you want...your name, pet's name etc. I got MonkeyPosh put on mine. This is my travel bottle of Neroli 36. It is very aquatic and light and floral. I get more ocean than neroli, but it is beautiful none the less. I bought this bottle at the original Elizabeth Street location.

Other than the Tubereuse 40 and the Neroli 36, Le Labo carries many unique scents:
Bergamote 22
Rose 31
Vetiver 46
Fleur D'Oranger 27 (gorgeous)
Patchouli 24
Jasmin 17
Iris 39
Labdanum 18
Ambrette 9 (stunning)

I think the Fluer D'Oranger 27 is next on my list. They are all beautiful, wearable and unique.
You can find these lovely scents at http://www.lelabofragrances.com/

Have a lovely day!

Nick Verreos and a girl who loves his shirt.

I love Nick Verreos. He was one of my favorite designers on Project Runway Season 2. Doesn't he look sweet? And pretty? And precious? And like he just saw Ashton Kutcher and/or Jesus? While in NYC last weekend at EMC2 (see post below) I fell in love with one of Nick's designs. I am loving his line with David Paul. Maybe they will be like the new Viktor and Rolf? Only cuter and more Greek and not as tall.
Such a unique and beautiful design--but such a drunk looking girl. My eyes were really bothering me and the flash on the camera was driving me nuts. It was all I could do to keep my eyes open. ( I had nothing to drink though really I am just not photogenic) The top part of the shirt actually comes off. It is 2 pieces.

This is one of me talking and walking--UGH, however it does show some of the splendor of the shirt. I looked horrible in all the photos--these are just the least horrible of the bunch. Just about every single photo had my eyes closed. The eyes closed is not a flattering look -- oh well it is not about me--it is all about the shirt.

Is this the one you had your eye on Jennipah? If so, then I truly believe you are my fashion twin.

Check out Nick Verreos and David Paul's line, NIKOLAKI at http://www.nikolakidesign.com/ or if you are in NYC check it out at EMC2 on Elizabeth street and say hello to the dashing Emmett McCarthy.

Have a beautiful day.

New York! Elizabeth Street and Project Runway Fun

I had a wonderful time this past weekend in New York City. I got to meet up with friends, family, fellow Okies at Bergdorf Goodman, and a few surprises.
In the largest city in the country, I just happened to run into a fellow fragrance buddy named T-bone. I was in the middle of Old Home Week at the Jar Fragrance Area and T-bone popped in to make fun, talk fragrance and see the pony tail. What are the chances???

I also ate at some wonderful restaurants on my trip.
I will expound on all that later.

Saturday I got POURED ON becasue it was RAINING CATS AND DOGS--but I met my friend Felish at Saks. It was so good to see her and she looks FAB by the way. I felt a little out of sorts because I was soaking wet from walking in the rain , and we were being accosted by the AGGRESSIVE and OBNOXIOUS sales associates at Saks. I was somewhat distracted to say the least. Everytime we turned around someone else was yelling at us to try a face cream or a fragrance. The Donna Karan Gold people drove me to drink hard liquor--I kid you not. The highlight of Saks was a kiss from our sweet John Henry. We love you John Henry!
Felish and I finally broke free from the cat calls at Saks and headed to Le Labo on Elizabeth. I purchased their (exclusive to NYC) Tubereuse the day before at the Barney's location, but I wanted to see the original Le Labo Lab on Elizabeth Street. I will post about my fragrance finds at another time.

I was not thinking about anything except Le Labo and PRAYING it would not start pouring again when I look up and the clouds part, the sun starts shining and what do I see like a rainbow with little sprites playing fiddles? EMC2 by Emmett McCarthy (former Project Runway contestant)!!!!! EMC2 is his awesome new store in SoHo. I had totally forgotten it was on Elizabeth Street. Well, being the Project Runway fan that I am, I start acting like a damn fool and Felish is like WHO? WHAT? WHERE? I tried to explain, but you really cannot explain the Project Runway--You have to LIVE the Project Runway (or go to FourFour).

So Felish and I try stuff on and Emmett is there and he is cool as hell and we talked and talked. Felish tried on this dress that was so beautiful it made me weep. Emmett was all freaking out on her figure--Yes I am telling the world that Emmett McCarthy was gushing about my friend's tall, lithe, lovely figure.
I got a shirt made by my sweet Nick Verreos also from the second season of Project Runway. It is an awesome piece of clothing. I will post pics of that tomorrow.

Of course before I left I had to get a photo with Emmett. He graciously took a photo with me.
It was a great time and as I said above, Emmett is a lovley man! So tall and so suave and so talented. His clothes are beautiful.

The afternoon was topped off by fragrances at Le Labo, vintage shopping at Ina's, Diet Pepsi from the deli, Chanel and men with fake lashes at Bloomingdales SoHo, and a wonderful dinner (and wine and hot chocolate) at Balthazar with Felish and her husband Phil.

Thanks to Felish and Phil and Emmett for a wonderful New York day!

Please forgive my hair in the photo--but I got SOAKED and I refused to put my hair in a ponytail. Any of you who know Felish will know why.

Have a beautiful day!
